Reading More Books…

This morning, I woke up later than usual, which is almost nine in the morning and it is usually around the time I drive out to the gym. So, I decided not to go to the gym. (I slept late last night, which messes up my morning plans because I wake up late and tired). I still have an evening walking meetup later. After I fully awakened and ate my breakfast, I realized I didn’t have anywhere else to go. I did some internet research. The weather looked nice outside, in the eighties. (I should have done laundry today, but I forgot.) I read a little bit in the Ira Levin novel, Stepford Wives. It is light but interesting, as the main character, Joanna Eberhart, discovers the dark secret about this strange, backwards town, filled with domestic-obsessed housewives without a life or a mind of their own, and controlling men. She wants to fight back and free the women from mind-controlled slavery, but she needs to convince the other women to get together and protest in order to start a women’s club. It is a short novel, and I could have finished it by now, but I am not reading a lot.
At 6 pm, 6 people showed up for the walking meetup. The weather was nice during the evening hours, and I ended up walking 3.9 miles and 11,711 steps, which I think is shorter than usual for this area. Maybe we took a shortcut somewhere. We saw a geese couple with the eight cute and fuzzy goslings, walking around at the park and enjoying the spring weather. It is mating season for geese and ducks. I returned home at 8 pm.
