DIY Doggie Decor
Tuesday, 12.14.21
I have always been interested in playing around with arts & crafts projects since I was a kid. I just like expressing myself creatively. And, since I have been on Youtube, I have learned to loom yarn to create beanies, scarves, stockings, fingerless mittens, halters, friendship bracelets, anklets, chokers, headbands, legwarmers, armwarmers, etc.
This evening, while watching some Youtube videos, I noticed these two videos demonstrating how to make cute doggies, whether for gifts or home decor. They are so cute. They remind me of my late Shih-Tzus.
These two videos are DIY projects to create a cute doggy décor for your home or room. Each video demonstrates a different way of creating a cute dog décor with yarn. The women in these videos use a glue gun. But I probably would just sew on the pieces and buttons for more security as well as tie a bow ribbon ponytail for the doggie’s hair as well as a ribbon around the neck for a dog collar.
The first demo displays creating a cute little Shih-Tzu.
The second demo displays creating a cute Poodle.
I have chenille yarn that I haven’t used yet in light blue and peach. Chenille yarn is hard to loom because it is so delicate, often tearing or tattering easily. I might do two doggies for fun in the future. But I need to buy some black buttons for eyes and nose, as well as a red button for each dog’s tongue.
Also, if you make many yarn doggies in different color yarns, you can create cute xmas tree ornaments. There is also a video demonstrating cute yarn cats, too.
