My short video of this morning’s hike at Sand Canyon Trail in Irvine, CA.

I am grateful for this relaxing morning hike on Thanksgiving Day 2021. Thanksgiving Day morning hike at Sand Canyon Trail, in Irvine, California, between Spectrum and Turtle Rock Community. This video is very meditative, just watching the trees swaying from the cool and fresh windy weather, fanning me as I walk under the bright Southern California sunshine.

I started my morning by feeding Gumby, making French Press coffee with vegan (coconut) creamer, and I slowly sipped my coffee while taking my vitamins. As I swished coconut oil in my mouth for twenty minutes, I changed my clothes to comfortable sweats. Although the weather looks very sunny outside, I also noticed it looked very windy. So, I decided to wear my puffy jacket, more like a windbreaker, just in case the windy weather feels cold.

By the time I finished my morning routine, I decided to drive there. It isn’t far, maybe around seven or eight miles. When I arrived, I realized I was thirty minutes early. I decided to chill and wait. I was going to keep my jacket inside the car, but California weather tends to be unpredictable, and it currently felt a little windy, even though it felt nice. Soon, people started arriving at the meetup, but the number of people who had joined was down from 50 to 38. 12 people dropped out during the last minute. There were 38 people and 4 dogs on the hike.

It was relaxing and meditative, as I checked out the different textures and warm colors of native plants along the trail. As the wind blew, hither and thither, swaying trees and branches, warm-tone leaves in yellowed-green and crispy brown rained down similar to fluttering soft feathers. Autumn textures of dried-up brown crispy leaves and soft furry-like plants swaying with the wind. There might have been some cotton plants.

There was a rest stop at Turtle Rock Community Park for a bathroom break. The hike continued back to our cars, parked at Quail Hill Community Plaza.
