The Winter Olympics 2022 is coming to an end. And, so is my two-week vacation, blogging about the excitement of winter sports while living in sunny California.
Women’s 12.5KM Mass Start
Germany’s D. Herrmann is in the lead. Norway’s Roeiseland takes over Hermann, followed by Russia’s Reztsova. They stop at a shooting range. As they continue, Norway’s Eckhoff, Sweden’s Oeberg, and Haeki are on top. Ecktoff takes the lead, followed by Roiseland, and Simon in 3rd place. One lap left, and Eckhoff and Braisaz-Bouchet are the top 2. France’s Braisaz-Bouchet races to toward the finish like for Gold. Czech’w Davidova and France’s Simon approach the top skiers. France’s Braisaz-Bouchet wins Gold, Norway’s T. Eckhoff wins Silver, and Norway’s Marte O. Roeiseland wins Bronze.
Men’s Biathlon 15KM Mass Start
30 Athletes — 5 Laps — Shooting Ranges
Maillet is in the lead, before JT Boe takes the lead in the race. They stop at shooting ranges. Sweden’s Samuelsson takes the lead, followed by Norway’s JT Boe, Sweden’s Ponsiluoma, and France’s Maillet. C. Gow approaches them. Norway’s V.S. Christiansen moves into 3rd, following JT Boe and Ponsiluoma. Maillet moves into 4th place. JT Boe, Germany’s Nawrath, Ponsiluoma, Doll, Samuelsson, and Gow are ahead. Norway’s JT Boe wins Gold, Sweden’s M. Ponsiluoma wins Silver, and Norway’s V.S. Christiansen wins Bronze.
2-Woman Bobsled
Switzerland’s bobsled, piloted by Hasler is in 1st and Canada’s Appiah is in 2nd. Germany’s Kalicki is now in 1st place, before Canada’s C. de Bruin takes over 1st place. USA’s Humphries is in 2nd place. USA’s Meyer-Taylor is now in 1st, before Germany’s Jamank takes over 1st place. Germany’s L. Nolte is now in 1st place. The top 3 are Germany, Germany and USA. This case will be continued tomorrow.
