a sign by the Regency Theater with interesting movies

I need to go to this movie theater more often because it seems to show more interesting movies as well as live shows on screen.

This morning, I decided to go to the Regency Theater to watch another Bolshoi Ballet performance, taped live in Moscow, Russia. This time, I watched Jewels, choreographed by George Balanchine and directed by Isabelle Julien. The music is by Stravinsky and Tchaikovsky, and musical direction is by Pavel Sorokin. The host, Katerina Novikova, interviewed people during two 25-minute intermissions, translating from Russian to English.

Balanchine’s Jewels choreography was inspired by his visit to a famous jeweler. He then created this abstract ballet dance about three dance schools that use his unique choreography style. These three dance schools perform as three different gems — Emeralds of Paris, Rubies of NYC, and Diamonds of St. Petersburg. All the ballerinas were expressive with their body and hands in their performance.
