1408 is a 2007 psychological thriller movie, based on Stephen King’s 1999 short story, also called 1408. Directed by Mikael Hafstrom, written by Matt Greenberg, Scott Alexander, and Larry Karaszewski, and produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, it starred John Cusack, Samuel L. Jackson, Mary McCormack, and Tony Shalhoub.

The story is about a writer who likes to debunk anything that has to do with haunted houses, supernatural occurrences, ghosts, and evil presence. He visits such places and writes books about his experiences. He suddenly receives a mysterious postcard about the Dolphin Hotel and the horror of its room 1408. This postcard piqued his interest and sparked his curiosity. He called the hotel many times to reserve the room 1408, but they always tell him that that particular room isn’t available.

He goes to the Dolphin Hotel in NYC, and persuades the Hotel Manager, Gerald Olin, to allow him to stay in room 1408. But the Hotel Manager continues to…
